Everything You Need to Know About the Shoe Charms Trend

 What Are Shoe Charms?

Fashion sites are calling shoe charms “the latest personalisation trend”, perfect for making any outfit pop. Shoe charms are tiny decorative baubles that clip onto your sneakers or sandals to give them extra personality and vibe. Think of them as the shoe version of Crocs’ famous Jibbitz™ – little pendants that you attach through laces, eyelets or holes.

They come in all sorts of materials and styles: metal or enamel charms, faceted resin gems, dainty chains, mini tassels, even cute enamel shapes. You can go super cute (think pastel bows, fruits or cartoon motifs), or choose luxe hardware pieces (gold-tone bows, pearls or crystal-encrusted pendants).

Charms are also surprisingly DIY-friendly – you can repurpose spare necklace or bracelet charms, or craft your own beaded loops – making them a fun, creative twist on personalising footwear.

The Trend

The Gen Z–and-Millennial crowd has driven shoe charms into the spotlight as a viral fashion hack. Social media is flooded with teens spicing up their Sambas and Air Force 1s with dangling bows, ribbons and bedazzled clips.  Influencers on Instagram are styling charms with everything from retro sneakers to girly Mary Janes, and shares of “sneaker charms” videos have skyrocketed in recent seasons. In short, charms turned sneakers are insta‑worthy statement pieces – a fun, DIY way to refresh shoes and show off your style on social media.

Celebrities Setting the Example

It’s not just everyday fashionistas getting creative – celebs have embraced the shoe‑charm craze, helping push it mainstream. In India, trendsetters like filmmaker Karan Johar and actor Jackie Shroff have been spotted flaunting their Crocs loaded with Jibbitz charms.

International style icons are into it too: pop star Kylie Jenner and K‑pop star J‑Hope (of BTS) have both been seen adding whimsical charms and ankle jewelry to their sneakers and slides, blending high fashion with streetwear playfulness.

Sydney Sweeney recently posted a photo and video of herself sitting in an RV: showing off her white Plume Suede Sneakers taken to elegant heights through an assortment of Miu Miu shoe charms and three different kinds of laces.

Fashion influencer Aimee Song showed off a suede midi skirt and jacket, crew socks, and cool-girl shades made more modish by the fact that she was skateboarding while wearing shoes spiced up by Miu Miu charms.

High-Fashion Charmers

Shoe charms aren’t just for bargain bins – designers and luxury brands have jumped on the bandwagon. For example, Balenciaga’s recent collaboration with Crocs turned its classic mule into a fashion statement by including removable Jibbitz charms on the strap.

Spotting the buzz around these viral brand moments, both Miu Miu and Coach smartly jumped on the trend by making their designer shoe charms officially available to shoppers. Just last month, Miu Miu introduced a playful lineup—including leather tassels (charmingly dubbed “tricks”), bold cord laces, and whimsical brooches—on its site through the new Custom Studio. This section lets fans mix and match their beloved low-profile sneakers and iconic handbags for a personalized styling experience.

And upscale sneaker-enthusiast brands like Golden Goose sell limited-edition lace-and-charm combos – our favorite is a clean white pair with dangling beaded cherry charms. In general, look for “sneaker jewelry” in leather, enamel or crystal finishes – many high-end brands now offer accessory packs (or even built-in charm loops) so you can match charms to your handbag or glasses chain

Amorella’s Dainty Bow Charms

Our favourite new collection is from Amorella, which offers a bow‑themed shoe charm set in gold‑tone with sparkling crystals. These mini charms (heart, bows and star motifs) are super cute and ultra-dainty, with a high‑quality polished finish that catches the light with every step. Each five‑piece set (gold and silver plated as well as tarnish resistant) includes different shapes – bows with pink crystal “wings,” a starburst motif, and even a tiny cowrie shell – all easy to clip on. The goal is to add a touch of magic to plain sneakers; these charms are intricately detailed yet subtle enough to blend with any outfit. The gold-tone and silver-tone hardware and jewel‑like crystals give an instant luxe feel, making everyday kicks look dressed up and polished. Quality is a focus – the charms are sturdy metal with a smooth finish, and because they’re all random mix (bows, hearts, shells, stars) you can mix and match or swap charms to suit your vibe.

Why You’ll Love Them

Honestly, shoe charms are one of the easiest ways to refresh a shoe collection without breaking the bank. They come in kits  (we spotted kits under ₹900 on Amorella), or you can splurge on a single designer charm for a statement look. The payoff is fun and immediate: one minute your plain white sneakers are classic, the next they’re uniquely your shoes. Charms let you echo your outfit details (a pink bow for a pastel dress, a pearl pendant for a chic all-black look) or just jazz up streetwear. They’re the perfect way to add flair to your footwear and make your sneakers sparkle. In short, shoe charms are a playful, easy shortcut to instant style.
